I have been a follower of Vestal and Howard Goodman for quite a while. They were pioneers in Southern Gospel Music. She became known as the “Queen of Gospel Musicâ€, a title she well deserved. She served the Lord with her voice, and triumphed over adversity after adversity. After reading her book, my admiration for her as a person, and a committed Christian woman rose significantly. Read her story to see why.
Even though she's gone, Vestal's story will lift you up spiritually. It proves that God will work in your life if you just TRUST HIM and allow Him to. I had the pleasure of knowing Vestal and she was truly a woman of great faith.
I cannot wait to finish the book! I love these kind of,books. I'm into,the old time religion and true stories of their journeys. Thank you! I was pleased with the price,fmthe book and after reading the reviews it was a just have book. I listen to them on pandora radio and have known fmthe, for many ears. They are such inspirational! No one in the world has ever been able to compare singing with Vestal Goodman.She was fantastic all of the years that she entertained us.
Vestal Goodman details her life as a preacher's wife and gospel music singer. She discusses two miracles that saved her life along with the many miracles she has seen including the raising of the dead. She touches on the history of the Goodman family. She mentions her time with PTL and how she ran away from the press with the Bakker children. She also includes her experiences with the Gaither Homecoming series. The book includes several pictures of the Goodmans and other stars.
I loved the book. I learned a few things about the Goodman Family that I did not know. Vestal was a minister and she lays things out as they are. I would recommend it to any fan of southern gospel music.
