I have definitely become another happy follower of Mr. Donald Robertson after following the Logan family through this outstanding western series of never ending excitement. There is a never ending excitement of one great accomplishment after the other. If you love gunfights, romance and plenty of heartwarming family episodes, this family and friends, will meet all you expectations. The exceptionally outstanding selections of characters and storylines will definitely keep your attention from beginning to end. The heartwarming experiences, as well as the outstanding descriptiveness of each episode, gives the reader immediate satisfaction! I have recommended many previously read series and I definitely have no problem declaring these three novels worthy of any reader's undivided attention! Great job by another outstanding writer of our American folklore fantasy.
This is the best of the series and I loved the first two. I was frequently on the edge of my seat, especially at the end. As usual, with Donald L Robertson; a classic, character driven western with no explicit sex scenes or foul language. I highly recommend everything he's written.
Now that I've bought and read the series of 3 books (so far), I've enjoyed them all. Plenty of action, and some romance, or potential (poor Callum, somebody needs to "Gibbs smack" that boy and take him aside to 'splain some things 😉). Others have mentioned the absence of explicit or gratuitous sex or violence. Yet at no point in any of the books has the writing ever been prudish or preachy. Good writing.
This is a wonderful adventure story of the old west with lots of action. I can’t wait for the next in the series. Robertson has an easy to read style and the ability to keep you turning pages and forgetting bed time. Keep them coming!
Donald L. Robertson has continued the Logan Family Saga in Callum’s Mission. In the wake of the Civil War between the States, the Logan Family continues to relocate from Tennessee to Colorado. The tribulations the family endures in the turmoil following the war are described in this edition. There are a great many unscrupulous individuals ready to take everything from families seeking a new life. The strength of Callum Logan and the rest of the family is described through triumph and tragedy with feeling. The author’s attention to geographical and natural science detail gives the sense of a historical fiction. A good read once again from Don.
I have read all three books in the series and love them all! It's refreshing to read books that keep you on the edge of your seat but are at the same time void of explicit sex and bad language. Robertson is amazing at developing characters and explaining details to the point you can visualize the situation in your mind. I highly recommend this series!
Author Robertson's description of that funeral was so poignant, it nearly brought tears from remembering my own past experiences. His fist fight scenes are as good as Louis L'Amour's. This 3 book series is a treasure. Great work author Robertson!
