Purchased to study projectile points. I was not disapointed with the packed information and photos on this subject. Used as well, as a price guide for collectors, I none the less use it as a reference manual. It lists point artifacts from each part of the country broken down in groups of states. It then shows most of what is common for that area as far as shapes, sizes, etc. It is a good guide for the beginner to learn both projectile shapes and nomenclature. I carry it as a supplement to other books on archaeology and prehistoric American Native studies.............

I cannot judge this book as I have not read it. It was a gift for someone else, That person told me he did and still does enjoy reading it. It was a good source for him for identifying some of the points he has found.
This series of guides is a valuable tool when identifying most of the stone projectile points made by Native Americans all over the United States. I first accquired the 3rd. edition and have since worn it out. Not only does the book identify the points, the color pictures are fantastic, and the many types of flint, chert and other lithic materials are covered. This book contains a wealth of information.

I read it and loved it! I'm now excited to share this joyful story with my grandchildren. My two youngest grandchildren have an appreciation for opera (5 & 11), the older two, not so much. The 16 & 18 year old will however relate to the story of following your dreams and putting in the work (in hopes of meeting Oprah along the way!)Especially loved the photos of Dr.Lori's many accomplishments.Bravo!
This is really a short, autobiographical read. The book has about 10 pages of text and is mostly pictures at the beginning and end. There are a number of run-on sentences, badly in need of commas. The book could have had another proofread before publishing. Children may enjoy the inspirational aspect of reading about the author and how she became an operatic singer.
This is a wonderfully written book. A must read for children and adults alike. Dr. Mirabal lights the path for every aspiring artist. It just takes imagination, determination, and inspiration! The poetic text and photographs take the reader on an exciting operatic journey.
Charming and informative, Dr. Lori Brown Mirabal's book for young budding artists and for the young at 'art' will inspire. Dr. Mirabal's love of teaching and love of opera are combined in her personal story of finding her own path. Brava!
