This book won't provide you a better insight than that. If you are in the business of system safety you will quickly outgrow the works of Hermann and Leveson.

I was extremely disappointed by this book. After becoming interested in minimalism and simple living, I'd read "The Year of Less" as well as several texts online and have been pretty pleased; I wanted to read more about it. So I got this book. Unfortunately. It has poor editing and pointless clip art filler that adds nothing to the experience. It's less like a "beginner's guide" and more like "you asked your instagram friend who just read Marie Kondo's book what she thinks minimalism is". Buzzwords like "chic", "authentic", and "spark joy" are thrown around carelessly like a kid who doesn't know how to properly season food. But let's get to the biggest issue with this "book": how small it is. It's only 140 pages to begin with, and then that amount is cut down by the wasted space spent on clip art. But the worst part is that about HALF of the book isn't even content. It's just empty space for "journaling", making this book 70 pages AT BEST. I honestly wouldn't even call it a book; it's more like a pamphlet! The content that you DO get isn't even really noteworthy, and plenty of better information can be found online for free. If you take away one thing from this review, let it be this: don't waste your money here.

I'm finally going for it! My basement & 2 stall garage are full to the rafters with stuff we've been getting rid of & not even close to being done!I'm going, when the purge is done, knit & design; relax with a cross stitch obsession I love & travel the US with my husband in our 3rd, but greatest RV ever! With our fur kid, recumbent bikes for the trails less traveled with friends we've met all over.My life without stress will be the most foreign to me of all. CAN'T wait to see & be IN my life!No more worries!
This book is so helpful for those who want to lead a minimalist lifestyle, and I love its accountability aspect. Zoey asks questions along the way for the reader, along with space for answers. Highly recommend!
Happiness, meaning, minimalism, and essentialism are eternal conundrums. Particulary in our digital times of paradigm shifts within many fields such as health, economy, and lifestyle. Quality of life is a choice. Freedom is always an option. Both tangible and intangible assets are essential. As usual, Zoey provides a wakeup-call and boosts your motivation to become a better person. Matters like presence, and compassion are often our real needs. Wants versus needs are always most interesting. Less is more most of the time. More is more only applies to certain areas like flowers and alike.
What a bunch of trite nonsense. This is a book that was obviously published due to the author's internet fame rather than during to any actual writing ability or deep knowledge of her subject.The author shallowly addresses the topic at hand without offering any unique insight or relatable wisdom. The practices that are discussed are so painfully obvious that you would have to be nearly braindead to find them eye opening (keep only what you love? Get rid of something if I have duplicates and only need one? Wow, why didn't I think of that earlier?! Oh wait, I did...).Besides lacking in meaningful material, the book is also extremely short. As another reviewer posted, about half of the book consists of blank journal pages for you to fill in on your own. For example, in one section she alludes to her background in marketing and its nefarious practices (without ever mentioning what any of them are) and then provides the reader with about ten pages to document his or her reasons for succumbing to marketing and its influence. End of chapter.I suppose in the end I am following this book's guidelines since I will be practicing minimalism by promptly tossing it into the donation box at our local library.

The book is divided up into areas of the US. Such as "Rock Mountains" which includes things to do in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. In the front of the book there is a map of the US that shows each region in a color on the state map with a name given to that region. The page to find that region and those states is also given on that map. So you can quickly turn to what states you wish to explore. The edge of the book is color coordinated to the color of the region you are investigating. The "Rock Mountains" is shown in pink so all the pages talking about the states located in "Rock Mountains" are pink on the edge of the book the colors can easily be seen even when the book is closed. Tons of infoincluding road maps. Inside each region is about 7 ideas of road trips to to investigate that region. Including about how many days it will take to do that road trip. Yes print is small but that's because the book is such a nice size to carry with you measuring; 7 1/2" X 5" by 1 1/2 " thick.
I enjoy travel books, but unfortunately this book is too scattered. The geographical sections seemed as they were just put in without concern for the overall flow of the book. After reading this, I wasn't sure which trips were the best. Lastly, the print was way too small. It seemed as if Lonely Planet was too concerned with having so much content, yet much of it wasn't helpful. Sometimes less is more.
Bought for relatives going on road trip of USA, well organized book and was appreciated!
Beware; the print in this book is very-very small.
They miss too much. Need to be more thorough in their approach and quit with the broad brush approach that doesn't really help anyone but those who only want to hit the top highlights
